eSATA Performance

Firewire 400 Performance

USB 2.0 Performance

Drive performance is very impressive across all three connectivity options, with eSATA really proving it's worth thanks to the exceptionally fast four platter 1TB 7200RPM drive at the heart of the FreeAgent|XTReme. A burst speed of 171.6 MB/s is monstrously quick even for an internal drive, as is a sustained read of 91.8MB/s.

Firewire 400 and USB speeds were also very good, and although USB 2.0 brings up the rear performance wise, a sustained read of 34.7MB/s is certainly nothing to be sniffed at.
